Due To The Sewer Main Blockage In Briarwood Lake Estates Due To Wet Wipes- We want to remind all residents... 

As our Parents' have always warned us about not flushing things down the toilet, we must deliver this piece of advice to remind all citizens of a great concern. The Village of Brighton would like to offer a friendly bit of advice. If alternate materials are used in place of toilet tissue, it is best to discard of these in the trash can NOT down the drain. Toilet tissue is designed to break down immediately upon becoming wet. Wet Wipes, Napkins, Paper Towels, etc. will not breakdown/dissolve as quickly or in some cases not at all. These can lead to clogged pipes within your home. So on top of all the other inconveniences, you may be calling a plumber. These wipes can accumulate in city sewer mains causing blockages or clump together and be drawn into any of our lift station pumps leading to pump failure which will put whole neighborhoods without sewer, no drains, no flushes, bad deal.
