Mission Statement:
We seek to provide public services to support the changing needs and improve the overall safety, health, and welfare of the residents and businesses of Brighton.
Who We Are:
The Village of Brighton, Illinois, is located mostly in Macoupin County, partially in Jersey County, and some rural residents are in Madison County. Brighton was organized as a town on May 14, 1869 and was incorporated as a Village under Illinois laws on April 5, 1886.The population of Brighton is 2,221 residents, as of the 2021 census.
Matthew Kasten was elected in 2021 as the Village’s Mayor and President of the Board of Trustees. We have a six-member Board of Trustees who preside over Village finances, economics, infrastructure, laws, and committees.
As a small village, we are committed to our citizens through organizations, events, and service. We support our businesses and encourage new economic growth. We The residents of Brighton are always ready to volunteer and have a great sense of community.
