Brighton Water has 2100+ customers
% of customers receiving late payment fee: 12%

% of customers on e-billing: 43%
% of customers with bank draft: 21.9%
Meters are read between the 8th -10th, approximately. Dates are adjusted for weekends and holidays. This results in a different number of days billed monthly.
The information collected in the reading isn’t billed until the end of the month. We must wait for the previous month’s billing cycle to complete before posting the new amount. The last day of the billing cycle is the 25th. The readings will be applied and the new bill generated on the next business day. Again, the dates are adjusted for weekends and holidays. Example: August readings will be 6th, 7th and 10th. Bills will be generated/mailed August 26th and due September 15th.
We pay a company to deliver your bill to you monthly- the United States Postal Service. Once the bills are taken to the Post Office, we have no control over the length of time they take to process and deliver the mail. It should only take 2-3 days for first class mail. With modern technology, it should take less time, not more.
ONLINE BILLING
If you choose to sign up for online billing:
1)Signing up is FREE.
2)The water bill is available the day it is generated.
3)You do NOT have to pay online. You can still send in your payment.
4)The system automatically changes your bill type to e-bill.
5)After signing up, you may receive a paper bill by calling the Water Dept. and requesting to be changed back.
6)If you pay online, the Credit Card Company charges the fee. Brighton Water does not receive any portion of this fee.
AUTO DRAFT from Bank Account:
NO CHARGE. The amount is taken out of your account on the 12th of each month. (If 12th is on the weekend payment is drafted on the 11th or 13th)
